Fix iTunes Backup Session Failed 2019

Try the Following Troubleshooting Steps

It is very likely that you may have tried one of the following. Even if you have, we strongly encourage that you try each one. Try restoring the device after each step to see what happens. If you are still unable to restore the device, try the next one.

Tip 1. Update iTunes

Tip 2. Reset the Device (This may Cause Data Loss)

Tip 3. Turn off both the Computer and the iPhone and then Turn Them on Again

Tip 4. Disable Security Software

Tip 5. Use iCloud to Backup and Restore
Tip 1. Update iTunes

Make sure that you are using the latest version of iTunes. To do this Open iTunes and from the meu bar choose iTunes (Mac users) or Help (Windows Users” and then select “Check for Updates. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.

Tip 2. Reset the Device (This may Cause Data Loss)

Connect your device to your computer using USB cables to see if iTunes detects the device. If it doesn’t appear or your forgot your passcode, you may need to reset the device. Resetting the device to factory settings may wipe any setting that is causing the issue. To do this go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents and Settings. If a forgotten passcode is not your problem, check out our third option.

Tip 3. Turn off both the Computer and the iPhone and then Turn Them on Again

A reboot for both your iPhone and the computer is one of the easiest yet effective troubleshooting solutions you can attempt.

Tip 4. Disable Security Software

If you are using a Windows PC, it is likely that your security software is interfering with the process. Update, change or uninstall the security software completely to see if this helps. If you can, disabling the software might be a better option.
Tip 5. Use iCloud to Backup and Restore

If you back up your device on more than one computer, try using the other computer. You can also use iCloud to backup and restore the device if iTunes continues to be unresponsive. Here’s how to restore the device via iCloud if you have an iCloud backup.

Step 1: Turn on the device. If you had already set up the device, erase all contents and settings like we did in point 2 above to get to the setup screen.

Step 2: Follow the instructions on the setup screen until you get to the “Apps & Data” screen and then select “Restore from iCloud Backup.”

Step 3: Sign in with your Apple ID and then choose the latest backup. Keep the device connected to a Wi-Fi network until the process is complete.
